Eight Shades of Beige with Hazel Blomkamp from South Africa

2 or 4 Day Workshop, Monday 3rd & Tuesday 4th and Thursday 6th & Friday 7th July.

If you would like to join Hazel for 4 days to do this workshop please book into this workshop and number 47. Students can only commence this workshop during this workshop, 47 is continuance only.

Elegant and timeless, monochromatic designs have been popular with embroiderers for centuries. Worked on a natural coloured linen cotton blend using DMC threads and Miyuki beads, the design comprises a number of interesting and diverse stitches and techniques.

  • Bead embroidery: 3 techniques

  • Crewel embroidery: 14 stitches

  • Needle Lace embroidery: 4 techniques

  • Needle Weaving: 1 pattern

Measuring 365 x 250 mm, the design comprises three identical sections woven into a single homogenous design with a pleasing flow, meaning that despite the size of the overall project, it will be possible to cover all the techniques in a two-day workshop. This project is not for beginners but stitchers with an intermediate to advanced knowledge of embroidery will enjoy the project and learn some interesting techniques and tips along the way.

Skill level: Intermediate to Advanced

Cost of Kit: $93.50
