Waiting for Mum with Lynda Worthington
2 Day Workshop - Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd July
This artwork depicts a young tawny frogmouth sitting patiently in a tree waiting for his mother to come back with food. It is a textured high relief piece, not flat against the background. In this workshop you will learn the techniques to create your own version of 'Waiting for Mum'.
Techniques include free motion machine embroidery, layering, hand embroidery and sculpting. It is not expected that you will complete the piece within the two days and you will be provided with materials and instructions to take away with you to finish your piece.
This workshop requires use of a sewing machine for each student. You are encouraged to bring your own sewing machine however sewing machines are available to rent for the duration of your workshop.

The basic kit includes fabrics, stabiliser, feathers, oddments of yarns, eye, Styrofoam and instructions to finish. Students will be sent a small requirements list closer to the event.
